October 30, 2024

The Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation (HCRF) was proudly featured on CBS News for its 10th Annual Wings to Cure Gala, a milestone event dedicated to raising vital funds and awareness for cancer research. Held in Chicago, the gala brought together a distinguished group of supporters, donors, and medical professionals for an evening of celebration, inspiration, and commitment to the fight against cancer.

The event was highlighted by powerful speeches from key figures, including HCRF Founder Eleni Bousis, Director of the Lurie Cancer Center Dr. Leonidas Platanias, and cancer survivor Shaina Hurley Lardakis, who shared her inspiring personal story. Shaina's courageous journey as a cancer survivor served as a reminder of the importance of the work being done at the Lurie Cancer Center and the critical need for continued funding and research.

As featured on CBS, the evening also included live music, a silent auction, and heartfelt messages of hope. The funds raised during the gala will directly support the Foundation’s mission to advance cancer research, fund innovative clinical trials, and provide resources to improve patient care.

The *Wings to Cure* Gala marks a decade of impactful work by HCRF in the fight against cancer. With the ongoing support of the community and the leadership of Eleni Bousis, Dr. Leonidas Platanias, and many others, HCRF is making significant strides toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for cancer. The Foundation remains committed to ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone, with continued hope for a brighter, cancer-free future.
