In Loving Memory of Chrisoula Timoleontos: A Singer, Caregiver, and Pillar of the Greek Community

November 12, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Chrisoula Timoleontos, beloved daughter of Zoe Katsanevakis and the late George Vitetzakis, on October 30th, 2024. She peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Chrisoula is survived by her devoted husband, Dimitri Timoleontos; her cherished son, Thomas Georgopoulos; her daughter-in-law, Marina Karamanis; and her beloved Maltese, Lily.

A woman of many talents, Chrisoula’s early love of music led her to a successful career as one of the most prominent Greek singers in the Chicagoland area. Her voice graced many concerts, weddings, and cultural events, where she became known not just as a performer, but as the heartbeat of the Greek community. Her deep passion for her heritage was also expressed through traditional Greek dance, which she joyously shared with others.

Later in life, Chrisoula's compassionate nature led her to pursue a career in nursing, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She founded Total Senior Care, a home health nursing company, where she served as Chief Nursing Officer, advocating tirelessly for her patients' well-being and care.

Chrisoula's zest for life, her immense love for her family, and her unwavering commitment to her community were the pillars of her spirit. She will be forever remembered for the warmth, love, and light she shared with all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2024, at St. Nectarios Church in Palatine, IL. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Bethania Cemetery, and a private luncheon will follow for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hippocratic Cancer Research Foundation in Chrisoula’s memory.

Chrisoula's legacy of love, music, and care will live on in all those whose lives she touched.
